The Dark Knight (2008)

Why so serious? Because this is still the best superhero film ever made.

Batman, Commissioner Gordon and the new district attorney Harvey Dent are winning the war on Gotham's mob, until the Joker arrives with no plan, no rules and a lot of gasoline.

Heath Ledger's Joker is one of the great screen villains. It plays more like a crime thriller than a comic-book film, and nearly two decades later nothing in the genre has topped it.
