Drishyam (2013)

Masala Meter 4/5 · Quality 9/10 · Malayalam · Thriller, Family drama

A cable-TV operator, one terrible night, and the most watched alibi in Indian cinema.

Georgekutty is an ordinary man who has watched a lot of films. When his family is pushed into a crisis, that's suddenly the most dangerous skill in Kerala.

The first hour is deliberately slow and domestic. Stick with it: everything you saw turns out to matter. The original is still the best of its many remakes.
