The Mahabharata meets Mad Max, with Amitabh Bachchan as the trump card.

In a ruined future Kashi, a bounty hunter (Prabhas) is hired to catch a pregnant woman (Deepika Padukone) who may carry a god. Standing in his way is Ashwatthama, played with towering presence by Amitabh Bachchan.

The world-building is the most ambitious Indian sci-fi has attempted, and the final hour is a blast. The first hour, sadly, is clunky.

Where to watch in India: Netflix, Prime Video.
