Super Deluxe (2019)

Masala Meter 3/5 · Quality 9/10 · Tamil · Dark comedy, Anthology

Four stories, one very strange day in Chennai. Bring an open mind.

A dead body, a teenage misadventure, a father returning home in a sari and a tsunami survivor turned preacher, all crossing paths in one city. It swerves from filthy comedy to genuine grief without warning, and somehow keeps its balance.

Not for everyone, which is part of why it works so well for the people it's for.

Where to watch in India: aha.
